When the first settlers arrived in the Heber Valley in the early 1800s, they found a land of steep mountains and narrow canyons. In order to make this area easier to settle, pioneers made one of the first canals in the Heber Valley which became the Spring Creek Ditch canal, and were soon after joined by the Sage Brush canal to form one.
The pioneers decided to dig a channel in order to bring water from the mountain streams to the fields, pastures, and gardens of the residents.
Pioneers, of the early 1800s, began work on creating a canal that brought extra water from the Provo River to help their fields and crops grow. The Spring Creek Ditch canal was one of the first canals in the Heber Valley and the Sage Brush canal was created by the construction of a ditch that cuts through the north field and then connected to the other canal to form one.
These early settlers had to be creative and smart when trying to find ways to make their new home hospitable for them and their families to live.

Shareholders:
To take advantage of the ARPA grant money received by the irrigation companies, shareholders need to install meters on all non-ag land (lawns and gardens) to receive irrigation water for lawns and gardens for the 2027 season. The grant money will cover labor and the installation of a new meter. If the shareholder insists on a larger meter than is necessary for their system, they will be responsible. The grant money the company has received needs to be invoiced by October 31, 2026. If shareholders have an existing old meter, or if their home was built after 2022, they are not included in the grant. WCWEP will still be meeting with those shareholders to make sure they have a working meter by this fall to ensure delivery of irrigation water for the 2027 season.
Hopefully, this notice conveys the sense of urgency for shareholders to make contact with the company presidents about the meter project. We would like to have most shareholders scheduled with the contractor so he can start installing meters again in the spring. If you have not had your meter installed yet, please contact Mike or Alan ASAP to start the process and ask any questions. If you qualify, please take advantage of the grant money! We have a contract with LGM Construction and Landscaping to perform this work.

Over a hundred years ago, Spring Creek Ditch and Sage Brush irrigation companies were founded in Northern Utah in the Heber Valley. They were started by pioneers with a common purpose: providing water from the mountain streams to the valley's fields, pastures, and gardens.
There are a lot of ways to interpret the phrase "working together in purpose," but for two irrigation companies whose canals intersect, it means working together to protect the shared channel.
Both companies have the same concerns and needs for the canal. It's a challenging task since both companies rely on water from that canal to maintain their own lands. You don't have to be married to someone for a long time to know that disagreements happen. It's not necessarily the arguments that make a lasting relationship—it's how you resolve them. A lot of people will tell you that what matters is that both parties are operating from a place of goodwill and a desire to reach an agreement fair to everyone. When this happens, you can work through your issues without bad feelings and come out stronger than before.
In the case of these two irrigation companies that share the same canal, they are working together to protect the canal and the rights of the shareholders to the canal.

It is our intention that this website provides a platform for the Shareholders to have a place to view the Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws and up-to-date information that they may need. Our goal is to have a space that the Shareholders can go to that provides a convenient place for communication and information for the shareholders.
It will also be an alternative place shareholders can go to see notice of scheduled meetings, a link to the WCWEP Ticketing Office, and a map showing the Company’s area.

Transfers
For those who need to transfer their water shares in either company:
1. Please have your previous water certificate ready. We need the actual certificate, not a copy.
2. Fill out and sign (need's notarized) a Declaration of Share Transfer form. You may call the secretary to get one or if you're a shareholder log in to this site and find the form under Files.
3. Once we have your previous certificate and the Declaration of Share Transfer form, we'll send them for approval.
4. Once approval is given, we'll process it and create the new certificate.
The transfer fee is $100.
If this is a CUP Supplemental or Aggregate Share transfer, get in touch with the Center Utah Water Office in Heber, as well, to start the process. They have their own requirements that you will have to complete. A Declaration of Share Transfer form for Sage Brush and/or Spring Creek Ditch is still required along with the transfer fee to complete the process of transfer with these companies.
*If you are transferring normal stock shares and CUP stock shares, 2 transfer fees are required since each type of share has a specific process it must go through.

*If you are transferring shares in both companies, you must fill out and sign the Declaration of Share Transfer form twice, one for each company along with a separate transfer fee of $100.
